Greetings and many thanks for taking the time for considering
Jimmy DeHeno for your musical entertainment. I have been playing guitar since
1966 and 5 string banjo since 1974. After graduating high school in 1975, I
attend St. Clair Community College, majoring in classical guitar.
I co-founded a band in 1975 called Burnwood. After we disbanded in 1995, I played
pedal steel guitar in a country band and then lead guitar in a classic rock
band for two years. I decided it was time for a break. I spent the next year
year or so learning new music and writing many of my own songs. I decided then
to play solo. Playing at restaurants and nightclubs, I found that I enjoy playing
music more than I have in years.
My repertoire includes many easily recognizable popular songs from the 60's,
70's, 80's, 90's and of course current music as well. I also enjoy entertaining
your audience with finger style arrangements of well known songs.
I spend much of my time doing motivational speaking in schools for students
who are struggling with learning problems. As much as music has helped me survive
those years, I find that it helps today's students and talking about it with
someone like me who has "been there" seems to reassure them that they
will survive.
The music I play today comes "from the heart". I feel all audiences
notice and appreciate that, I hope you will too. Feel free to contact me at
your convenience.
Thanks again.
Sincerely,
Jimmy DeHeno
